FLOTILLA 2019 Sep 3 Written By Pugwash Estuary August 17, 2019 - a picture-perfect day for a flotilla. Build it and they will come - and they did. This year we had over 50 participants in canoes and kayaks - more than ever before. Registering - how many go out? Do the same number come back in? Some show off their sartorial best. Others head straight to the water. Eventually, there they all are. And a fine sight they make on our beautiful Pugwash River. A great family activity. Maureen organized a stop and swim at our new piece of land. Gorgeous. Clara checks us in and we are helped out of our kayaks. Thanks, Mike. That part gets more important every year. This year we added a duck race. The ducks had minds of their own and didn’t want to be caught. But our crew, Kayla and Catlin, were up to the job. Doug Kane was the lucky winner. His family had plans for his money. Once again we are entertained by our good friends, Heather and Gerry Pike.. Everyone does different things at a flotilla. Mike sips a lonely beer. Whereas, Bonnie throws herself into it. And Betty and Larry chew the fat. Reece’s work is never done. Thanks for being great summer students. Pugwash Estuary http://www.pugwashestuary.com
